My baby is throwing up!
My Ds just turned 15 months. I put him down for a nap and he woke up about 30 minutes later screaming...Wehn we went in there to check on him he was covered head to toe in throw up!
This is the first time he has been sick with the flu! We sat down for dinner and like an idiot I gave him what we were eating....home made mac n cheese and chicken. Well you can guess what happened next. So should I just offer the boob more often or go and get him Pedialyte. Currently he has only vomitted twice!

Re: My baby is throwing up!
I would keep offering him breastmilk. It's quickly and easily absorbed, more so than electrolyte drinks.
do you have a probiotic for him? if so, you should give him an extra dose.

Re: My baby is throwing up!
aww...poor baby! i too would continue the breastmilk unless he keeps throwing up usually if his belly hurts too much he won't nurse at all so if he's still nursing i'd continue unless he starts to deny it.

Re: My baby is throwing up!
Wait at least 30 minutes after he throws up before you let him eat or drink...odds are it'll come right back up

Re: My baby is throwing up!
NO dairy!! Bland foods only the BRATZ diet is usually best:
banana, rice, apple sauce, toast (dry), and saltines... and boobie milk all the time...poor baby!

Re: My baby is throwing up!
Yep, boob him. But try to wait at least a 1/2 hour or so after he throws up or it will just join you again.

Re: My baby is throwing up!
Does he drink from a sippy? Offer him a few sips at a time, every five or 10 minutes, to keep the fluid levels up without overwhelming his poor little tummy. My other best tip is to pull out the biggest towels you have (like beach towels), and cover your couch, your lap, the bed, wherever he is sitting. Then you can just peel off the icky layer and throw it in the wash.
