Lisa - Is your water hard, soft or medium? If it is hard or medium, you can try using a water softener such as calgon (not the bath soap) or borax. They can be found in the detergent section of the supermarket. It helps the detergent dissolve and work better. Also, if you have hard water, you should not used vinegar as it can cause stink.

maybe ill try sunning them and see if that helps instead of using the dryer. I want to use the simple green and washing sode but they dont sell it on the island i called the number and they said no one here sells it. Whats a good detergent to switch to? I thought Sun but the only kind i found is scented is that ok? Im hoping once we move to the mainland and i can use the washing sode plus simple green it'll be a lot better

I have heard that washing soda is soda ash. Soda ash can be purchased at pool supply stores. This may work in the interim.

I use the washing soda/simple green & a bit of dawn a few times a month. Havent had any stink yet & I have alot of hemp doublers! I do like to vary my detergents, so every 3 washes or so I'll use sport wash or Sun instead, but I really like the washing soda/simple green the best.
