Hmmm, whenever I crop and shrink down a picture to put in my avatar, the file size is still 140something KB and needs to somehow be smaller than 19KB to be used as an avatar. How can I edit a pic and also make it smaller in KBs?

I'm not sure I just use the url from the photobucket link and put it there and it fits....not sure what I have done to do that, but I'm sure someone will help you

I upload full size images from my computer to DS and it shrinks it for me.

Try just uploading your pic from your computer and see if it works.

Irfanview does it and it is really easy and it's a free program. You may want to try that.
