Re: Girl name or boy name?

I love traditional 'boy' names used for girls. One of my friends named her now 8 yo Elliot, and she's called Elli for short....I would name this baby the same in a heartbeat if DH would agree.

Bottom line is that the choice is yours! Like I told my mother when our DD was born: she already her chance to name her kids. They may not love it, but once it's done they'll get used to it. (And of course i mean that in the most loveing, sweet, goodnatured away!)

I think of most names that have "son" in them as boy names.

I'd say its GN and who cares if it could have similar nicknames to your sister? If you like the name, go with it!!

It occurred to me that you could even spell it Elliotte as a way to feminize it. Much too cute!

I say a little girl the other day named Emmerson so ever since then I associate it as female. If you like the name that's all that matters.

Re: Girl name or boy name?

I think its a boys name but than again I meet a couple and they just named there baby girl brett after her father (yes that is her first name as well as his) Its odd but hey thats what they wanted. DH says carmine is a girls name but I don't care known many boys named carmine n its what I like. But emma n emerson would be like cute twin b/g names.

I only know of girls named Emerson- I love it! One of our friends nicknamed their Emerson "Emme". The name fits her perfectly!
