So, now I need a pizza sauce recipe...
I have been trying to make more of my meals instead of popping open a jar, can, or box. My next hurdle is pizzas....What is your tried and true pizza sauce recipe? Thanks!

Hmmm, I don't know if this counts since you open a canof tomato sauce and a can of tomato paste, but here you go ...

This is my favorite:
1 C crushed tomatoes 6 oz can tomato paste 1/4 C water 1 Tbsp minced onions 1 tsp brown sugar 1/2 tsp EACH of basil, oregano, and parsley 1/4 tsp EACH of fennel seed and garlic powder Mix ingred. in saucepan. Cook over low heat for 15 min. Use about 3/4 C for each pizza. Freeze the remainder. Thaw to room temp before using any frozen sauce so that it has the right consistency. Yield - 1 and 3/4 C |

Re: So, now I need a pizza sauce recipe...
Thank you both! Both of the recipes look easy, so that's good for me!
I actually thought this morning about using some of my frozen spaghetti sauce for this...It has a lot of flavor to it and has sausage in it, but I think it would work well.Quote:

I use my spaghetti sauce. Sometimes I add a bit of water to thin it down but that's the only thing I do differently.
