Re: Many + Multiples

I am an id twin, have id twin first cousins on my moms side, and 2 sets of fraternal twins on my dad's side (gr. grandma had 2 sets back to back). So I guess mine are due to family history. I just turned 34 and have had no fertility issues. I am so tickled bc I knew convincing dh to have a 4th was going to be tricky, and now the decision has been made for us.

Re: Many + Multiples

i was 22 when i got pregnant, happened by luck and god's grace i suppose, im average height, on the lighter side weightwise (not anymore..still got 15lbs to go lol), and no living twins in the family. i am the oldest of 8 though, and the baby of the family showed 2 sacs at 10wk u/s but only 1 baby, so its a mystery to us. though my mom was in her 40s when she got pregnant so maybe that has something to do with it?

While having multiples is amazing, and SUCH a blessing, I don't know that I would recommend "trying" for multiples. A multiples pregnancy is so much higher risk than a normal pregnancy. A friend of ours also just had identical twins, who thank God, are doing well in the hospital, after having TTTS.

Good luck to you!

I have also read that the more you have the higher your chances, so I really hoped I would get twins this time.....they only found one heartbeat. Darn, I was sure there were two!!! LOL Maybe next time for me!! HAHA

We wouldn't have any children if it weren't for modern medicine. What a blessing our twins have been. We get the "how" question even from perfect strangers which seems a bit forward to me, but since I'm proud of my family, how we got to be us doesn't seem to be anything to hide!
