when to pack bag for hospital?

I'd go ahead and pack. I was ready wayy too early for ds#1 (was induced at 38w6d)...i was just so excited With #2, I didn't want to pack too early...was planning to pack on monday...as tuesday was 39 wks & induction day....but i went into labor on sunday and packed while dh got ready to go. I was in denial, so I didn't pack much and they still had to bring stuff up to us (actually, i think it was for dh...as silly me fogot to pack for him while i was in labor, what was i thinking i had to drive us to the hospital too...while dh slept! but that's a whole other post...). We were only there for just over 24 hrs though and it wasn't that big of a deal.

Anyway, with a history of early labor, i'd pack

I packed at 30 weeks had the babay at 41 lol better safe then sorry ... and you know how that preg brain works .. or lack thereof ,lol. Pack a sposie camera ... we did and thank god we did b.c we forgot the digi !!

Well with my first I packed it about 2 days before I actually went into labor....I was 3 weeks over due. I guess I should've packed sooner but never really had the urge.

With the second I packed the day I went in to get induced.

This time I haven't even thought about it (I am 26 weeks) so I guess that means I'll wait until the last minute again. I figure I can always send dh home to get what I want.

lisa thanks for mentioning the sposie camera!!! with ds #2 my dh forgot the camera! so now i'm going to make a list of what i need to pack....so as to not forget anything like a sposie camera lol!! and jen have you started that other post lol, i might have some things to add to that one lol!!!

for you, it seesm totally fine to pack one right now, LOL!
I personally won't pack one.
the only way I go to the hospital is for an emergency C/S, so Ill be put under general anasthesia, so dh will have plenty of time to come home and pack some stuff for me, LOL!

I just started packing my bag and this is what I have so far for me:
List of people to call
Cell phone charger
Slippers/ Socks
Robe and night gown
panties/ maxi pads
Nursing bra and nursing pads
Deodorant
baby lotion
Chap stick: I don't really wear makeup
hair ties
toothbrush and paste-got a travel set from
shower stuff
boppy I will be taking this with me


For baby:
pacifier
diapers and wipes
baby lotion

wow I still need to add some stuff but I have time. I have a portable DVD player I think I will bring that with me as well.

that portable dvd player is a good idea...i don't have one though lol. ( i'll be bringing a few relaxing cd's though, the last two times i was in a ldr room they had a cd player at least lol. i would've forgotten the cell phone charger though!!!
