Re: What do you use for "nurse?"??

We started by signing "milk" but that turned into him clicking his tongue to mimic the sound of my nursing bras clicking open and shut to saying "nu-nu" (new-new). Now he calls "Momm-e, momm-e! Up, up! Nu nu..." then he giggles as I get it out and he knows its coming

Re: What do you use for "nurse?"??

We used the sign for MILK at that age. She calls my boobs "na-nas", but she doesn't have a special word for MILK or NURSE. Now that she drinks cow's milk mostly, she tells me that she wants to "drink mommy's milk" (or "touch mommy's milk" more often). It's interesting the transition to nursing someone so articulate!

Interesting because my baby cries "unga" on his own when he's hungry. I think it sounds like "hungry" or "hunger" and even wondered if the word came from a common sound babies make when hungry!

We call it milk or milkies, or just "nurse", but maybe I should take his cue and call it "unga"!
