Re: tell me about your 10-11month olds

I don't remember when it was exactly Jonathan started babbling at us... I'd have to go back and look at the videos. He always grunted, even in the beginning - but he's been saying "mama" and "Dadda" and sometimes "daaaaddyyyy" if he gets frustrated with DH. He says "gone" (sometimes "gone-gone") "All done" - sometimes "all gone" and he's started with "Adah-adah" (bye-bye).

We're dealing with two languages in the home so I don't expect leaps and bounds really... not at just 10 months.

He understands some simple commands but that doesn't mean he always listens... the VCR is his personal torture device and saying "get down" doesn't do much, and removing him from the situation elicits screams, which I hadn't been up to the last 2 weeks or so.

Babbling, ALL THE TIME...... sometimes screaming, squealing and fake laughter, trilling noises (like a rolling R at high pitch), real laughter and he does say "Hey" for hi or if he wants attention.

I do tend to talk a good bit with him, but he watches LOTS of tv in German some days, and my inlaws and DH talk with him 99% of the time in German.
English exposure is typically me, phone calls to my family and some tv shows DH and I watch together.

I didn't expect him to take off so early, but he did.
