Re: what is your strategy when babe gets a little rashy?

Since pretty much every diaper rash is bacteris/fungus related I slather on the generic Lotrim! I used cotton fitted so I have no fleece or suede cloth to ruin! I also try to allow for some good air time! If rash isn;t healing quickly I do strip- and upon seeing the rash I do add a bit o bleach to the load. and then I will do that once more when rash is gone.

I would like to try the silk liners as well but have'nt gotton around to it!

We just went through a terrible rash- weird funky thing. Turns out my son had a horrible reaction to vinegar and bakingsoda in our wash routine- I had just tried that because I was having some stink issues.

I found a perfect wash routine- stripped- slathered on the lotrim and we are good!

so far with my MEOS I have not found anything that won't wash out so the creams do not bother me.

The last thing I want to do is throw on a sposie when the bum is an owie- all those chemicals in sposies will only make things worse...Minda

My dd had one rash and it was from the day she wore sposies. Not a rash since, not in a sposie since.

We don't do desitin as my older dd was severly allergic to al creams and ointments. I actually used lanolin and it was wonderful!! Oh, fleece liner of course. I also have some NE diaper rash salve TTO free and I like that alot too, if she's red I put it on (smells awesome too).

Raw silk liners! Work wonders overnight, almost like magic. We also occasionally use Bag Balm or Weleda calendula cream (NOT the diaper rash cream) or Northern Essence TTO-free diaper salve. www.betterforbabies.com or Thumbelina Diapers both have raw silk liners - worth the investment, IMO, as the healing properties last through about 50 washes...how much is that worth in $$ rash cream?

My daughter was getting terrible rashes. We orderd some frog jelly and it works great. everytime i see a little red we put it on and by the next diaper change the reddness is gone.

We keep the NE diaper salve on hand. It is perfectly safe for CD's and takes care of any reddness/rash quickly!

Re: what is your strategy when babe gets a little rashy?

i just got a cream from london frogg and it cleared up DS's rash almost immediatly. all of his rashes are food related as well. we don't even keep sposies in the house, so it's not an option for us. when he has a rash I will either use a prefold minus the cover around the house along with some cream, or I will put a flannel liner in the diaper and put some cream on if needed. her cream is supposed to be CD safe, and you don't need very much of it.

Re: what is your strategy when babe gets a little rashy?

The best thing I've used to DD's rashes is air!
prefolds that are changed a LOT, air, air and more air!

Rashes like dark, warm, and moist places. Destroy their enviornment, and you destory the rash!

If I HAVE to use a cream, just cut up some old fleece material (old baby blankets, sales at stores...ect) and put some cream, and CD as normal!
