Double stroller??? Your experience please!

Here's my situation:

1. A taller 3yo and 1month old
2. Not a ton of storage space available at home
3. I want to go rollerblading with LOs
4. We already have a pull behind bike trailer that can hold 2 and convert to a jog stroller, but not meant for <18 months

I heard some people have used the bike trailer kinds with infants and just strapped the car seat right in. We could try that, but then our 3 yo would not fit in as well.

Ideally, I want something versatile (rollerblading and walking in crowds)
Compact, but able to be used until DD is 5yo

BOB revolution seems to not have much headroom. Baby Jogger isn't carried in stores. I also saw Kidz Kargo, but that looks so tight for the kid in the backseat.

Let me know your opinions!!!

Not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but I think we tried that one and had headroom issues with DD1. How old are your kids?

My kids are 2 years 7 months old and 10 months. Both boys. I have used the stroller since my littlest one was tiny and under 7 lbs... it worked well because I could lay the little one back and the older one sit up.

We have a Mountain buggy Urban Double. If your 3yo is tall you may have head room issues with this one, but have you considered a Phil and Ted? Or a BOB duallie?

Re: Double stroller??? Your experience please!

We have a Schwinn, not sure of the exact name. The kids ride side by side instead of front and back. The front wheel locks for running/jogging. It has large rubber wheels and we have even taken it hiking on mountain trails. Each seat is adjustable for laying the baby down. Bottom basket and pocket in the back.
Our kids are 5,4 and 1. My 5 yo still rides in it with no problem and I believe my 7 yo niece rode in it too. My son was about 1-2 months when he went for his first ride in it. He was a big boy though at 9lb7oz. The stroller also folds nicely and fits easily in the back of my Outback and if its unlocked I can get it out and open with one hand. (This comes in handy) We have had it for 4 years now and there has never been a single thing wrong with it.

This is hands down the best, most used baby/kid item we have purchased.

I have a Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem that I love. You can put an infant car seat on the front or have them recline in the seat. The older child can sit or stand in the back. My daughter is actually a lot older and sits fine on the back and is over the weight limit, she is 55lbs, but it has held up fine.

The draw back is that you have to purchase separately the mama cup holder/catch all that goes on the handle.

There is a small basket underneath and a canopy.

I have jogged with it, but with an infant that small their necks can't really handle the speed for jogging (or rollerblading). It doesn't drive as smooth as my bike trailer/jogger, but that may just be that the Joovy wasn't designed for as much weight as I am putting on it and the bike trailer is.

We used to have a orange double urban mountain buggy and, it was great. We don't need a double any more but, it worked well in the mall or on the trail.
