Longies & prefolds--need some help!

I am thisclose to making my first longies purchase (you guys are a terrible influence ) and I have a question.

My son primarily wears prefolds. I use the newspaper fold cuz that's the only fold I know! However, it does NOT hold in his poops...they leak out onto his cover 90% of the time. I don't want to get poop on my (I mean his) new longies....is there a better fold technique?

TIA!!

Try the jelly roll. It is the only one that works for dd.

Jelly roll or reverse angel fold.

Both work like a charm for us.
