Can a 9m old take probiotics?
ok, so we went to the Dr today and he's got a pretty bad ear infection from his cold, poor guy
, the dr was surprised he wasnt putting up more of a fuss about it. anyway she wants him on amoxycillin for 10 days. I know when DH or i are on abx we take probiotic acidophilous, but i dont know if ds can have it at 9 months old. what do ya think?

I'm giving my 3 month old probiotic powder mixed in a little bit of water or breastmilk.

Re: Can a 9m old take probiotics?
I have been giving my 10 m/o DD probitoics since she was about 4 months. Just use a infant blend. I use Udo's Choice Infant. It is a powder I mix in her bottles or applesause. I have tried a couple of different brands and I have learned that alot of infant and kids probiotics are flavored. Thats why I use Udo's.

Re: Can a 9m old take probiotics?
Just make sure you get a mix that is formulated for babies - their intestinal flora and fauna is different from adults. My ds took them when he was 4 or 5 months old after a particularly nasty stomach bug - I just mixed the powder with a little water and gave it to him in a dropper.
