low fat chili?

I want to make some chili for me and my son(dh wont eat it) but I am trying to eat lower fat and healthy. I use extra lean beef that i rinse and drain, but i dont really know how fattening chili is. and the beans are higher fat but is it the kinda fat that is going to make me fat or should I leave those out? put lentils in it? i am going to add lots of veggies though!! yum!! any suggestions would be great! any ingedients I should stay away from?

I make a 2lb chili and use 1lb 99%turkey and 1lb 93% ground beef.

We often use black beans in our chili, tasty and healthy. I think that the more ingredients like veggies and beans that you use, the healthier the chili is since you aren't eating as much meat. Of course if you serve it the way I like it, con queso, it is not quite as lowfat!

I LOVE to use my crock-pot to make chilli heres my recipe You can alter it to fit anything your Family likes.

1lb Ground turkey Browned and drained
2Lb mixed DRIED beans (white navey, Light red kidney and pinto)
4Cloves of garlic Minced (or dehydrated chips thats what we use)
1Medium Onion Diced (I use the Spanish kind)
1Medium Bell Diced (I like green you can use any color you prefer)
1can Diced tomato Juice and all (or you can use fresh about 3 of them)
2qts Beef stock
3tblspns Taco seasoning (YUP I cheat and its TASTY, add more if you like it spicier)
2C water
1tsp Masa harina Flour for thickening (thats Optional) we like it thick
you ad this at the END when its all cooked

PUT EVERYTHING IN THE CROCKPOT ON HIGH AND LEAVE IT ALONE FOR 6 HOURS then turn it down to low and let it cook for another 2.

*there is Less than 300 Calories per bowl (2c worth)*

Add lowfat Sour cream, Lowfat or part skim Mozzerella for a Treat
You can substitue the ground turkey for whole turkey breast chunks or Chicken breast chunks NO SKIN in which case cut into bite size pieces and Put it in Raw in the beginning the cooking time does Not change.
