to the person looking for "cereal bar" recipe
This isn’t cereal bars, but it’s a great soft “power” bar. My whole family loves them, and they are good for you.
Preheat oven to 375 Mix ½ cup butter, ¾ cup white grape juice concentrate, ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla in bowl and mix well. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup whole wheat flour, 2 tbs ground flax seed (wheat germ, or oat bran also work), ½ tsp baking soda, 1 tbs cinnamon, 1 cup chopped nuts (any kind you like) and 1 cup dried fruit (again, any kind you like) you can also add 1 cup chocolate chunks or chips if you want, but it makes it less good for you. Add dry mix to liquid mix and stir until thoroughly combined. Then spoon into 2x4 inch bars and bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Leave bars appx. 1½ inches apart. I use stoneware and they turn out beautifully, you can also use parchment paper on a metal baking sheet. ENJOY! |
