I love pirates, too, but since I only have a girl I don't think I would buy pirate theme for her - especially such dark colors. Unless you were able to find some pirate themed fabric in more pastel colors! If you stat your business only offering pirate stuff that will appeal more to mamas with DS's, then you could alienate all the mamas with DD's. If I know you only make boy pirate items I may not check back on your items in the future, so I would never know if you expanded your items. My suggestion would be to certainly do your pirate theme, but also to offer at least a second line that will appeal to your DD mamas - even if it is more gender neutral (GN) colors like periwinkle, sage, yellow, tan... so, you wouldn't necessarily have to do a girly line, but a GN line would appeal to everyone. There are a lot of mamas who like to buy GN so they can use the same CD's for future children. If you check FSOT, the greens and yellows are often the first to sell. Good luck to you!
