Diaper Swappers

Hi mamas. My kiddos and nince and nephew are constantly outgrowing their clothes (They only wear Gymboree, Gap, and Boutique brands). I usually stckpile them and do a church consignment sale twice a year. I was thinking about starting a resell store on hyena cart with only thise kinds of brands. I would love to shop from one. Do ya'll think it would do well? any suggestions. I HATE ebay, so that's out and craigslist is too time consuming with little stuff like clothes.

Would Hyenacart be any less time consuming than craigslist? I just don't know what craigslist entails for you. Another idea would be for you to start a bi-annual consignment sale. There is a woman in my community who does a Spring sale in April and a Fall sale in October. She takes 200 consignors and it is run by volunteers, so no paying employees. The consignors get 70% of their profits, so she makes the rest! She makes thousands at each sale. PM me if you have any interest and I can give you her website. I can also give you another website for another consignment sale in my area that is run by another woman. Both ladies are very nice, and if you are interested I am sure they would share what they know. ... Also, have you heard of gymbofriends.com? people sell, buy and trade gymbo and janie and jack clothing - as well as other brands on there. If you are not a member check it out. HJust FYI - it takes over a week for them to approve your membership. It was recommended to me by another DSer.

i think it would do well! i would LOVE that kind of thing. i don't think it would be any less work than FSOT or ebay. CL (my experience) isn't the best venue for nicer stuff--people expect garage sale prices.

Starting your own CS is a lot of work--marketing, etc etc but a HC store w/used clothing is an awesome idea!

GO FOR IT!

GF is a good idea but things move slowly over there right now just like DS.

Use bonanzle.com!!! I've been using that for awhile now... it allows people to make offers as well and you can run sales (certain percentages off)... people can pickup or you can ship. I advertise it on Craigslist. It's great!

I could be wrong but I think technically HC is supposed to be for handmade items. The consignment idea isn't bad ... I would personally like to see WAHP and boutique items and not the big name brands.

I think there is a hyenacart that does this.. let me see if I can find it.

Found it. Looks like they do all clothes, not just high end.

I think this is a good idea; I couldn't buy gymbo brand new, and I hate ebay, and my local CL is so small, I'd have to drive 2 hrs away to a different CL to get anything
