Nice to meet ya! I'm ready to CD

Hi all! This site has come highly recommended by all of my CD friends. I'm excited to join you and start cloth diapering my almost-6-month-old son, Johnny.

We are moving to an apartment with a washer/dryer this weekend (YAAAAAAY!) and I'd like to transition to cloth diapering as soon as possible.

I've read lots of CD sites, talked with friends and my husband, and I think I want to try a combo of prefolds/covers and pocket diapers. I plan on picking up just a few until I figure out which system will work best, and then I'll add more so we won't need disposables anymore.

I really hope that we'll have less leaks and blowouts with CDs. My son is in Pampers Cruisers at the moment (we've used a variety of store brands and Pampers/Huggies) and he still leaks or explodes through a diaper probably every day.

I think he's maybe 17-18 pounds. He's in size 3s but they seem small already. I like that I'll be able to control the absorbancy and fit a little better with cloth.
