Re: The Importance of Rear-Facing for as long as possible

We have 2 Marathons but my DS was too big to rear face at a year (33 lbs) and we had to switch him then. Are there seats that go up further than that for rear-facing?

Re: The Importance of Rear-Facing for as long as possible

In America the max rearfacing weight on a comonly made seat is 35lbs, I believe.

I have heard, but not verafied, that Britax makes one that may go higher but it is for special needs children. There are also seats made overseas (not sure where) that go rearfacing to 65lbs.

I am so sorry you had to turn him at 1 year old. And I am sorry there aren't any seats on the market to accomidate a higher RF weight limit. My hope is that, if and when the demand for a higher weight limit on Rearfacing seats increases the manufactures will start making them and they will become eaiser to get ahold of.
