Let down question
I DID IT! Some of you might have read my story awhile back about relactating. . . long story short I started pumping every hour on the hour (except night) around March when DD was 7 months old about 6 weeks later my supply was full swing again and no more formula YEAH!!! But all of a sudden out of nowhere about three days ago my milk will not let down??? I have very fast let down like less than a minute! Now I can set there for 5 minutes and nothing comes but drips WHY???!!! I go on and do something else and come back like ten minutes later and it might come and it might not, eventually after a sing song dance of this it drops. . . anyone else experiencing this what can I do????

Re: Let down question
I don't have any experience with this but is it possible you have clogged ducts that may be causing it?

Re: Let down question
First of all, AWESOME for you! Way to go!!!
Is stress a factor? Maybe try not thinking about it while you're pumping...also I've heard maybe if you drink a cup of hot tea while you're pumping. And the warm cloth/rice bag as well. Good luck!

Re: Let down question
I think I figured it out I am always on the go like constant! I have to work full time and I'm outside sales so its go go go! Here lately though I have had some down time here and there and I have noticed it's when I am completly at ease and no rush that I have problems pumping!! LOL I guess I am so conditioned to almost running around with the thing attached to me that when I have a moment to sit and relax and pump my breasts go into shock or something!!! If I'm rushing and thinking of my next appointment it drops right out if I have nothing to do for the next hour it gives me fits -- WEIRD!

Re: Let down question
My DD is 8 months old and I have noticed that lately I have a much harder time letting down...and that is with her nursing...I don't ever pump. I don't know why, but the milk eventually comes. Maybe make sure that your pump is still functioning well and possibly replace the membranes.
And WAY TO GO on relactating!!

Re: Let down question
I have to pump and work full time outside the home. I notice a BIG difference if I am able to nurse exclusively for a few days, in that when I pump at work on the first day back I have an easy time with let-downs. I've also noticed that being stressed out definitely affects how successful my pumping sessions are. I think you're right...if you're stressed, it can affect how much you get when you pump. I think it helps a lot to nurse just as much as you can when you are with your little one. Hope that helps.

Re: Let down question
Problem is I was never successful at getting her to reattach! No matter what I do she will not latch on. . . guess it was the price I pay for being selfish but at least I know she's getting what she needs now. . . I wish there was a way to get her to reattach but I have tried everything!
