Realizing I can't be a prefold Mama forever...

I LOVE MY PREFOLDS! I'll be able to get away with them for another six months to a year (DD is 2-1/2) but then I'm wondering where I go from here. I prefer prefolds because they are low maintenance and easy to clean and no stink, etc., etc. Where you the prefold lovers go from here?

I guess the question is why will you have to stop using them? If it is a size thing I am sure you can find a WAHM to make you larger prefolds as easily as you can find a WAHM to make any other type of larger cloth diaper. With Kearnan who was in diapers till 5yrs I use AIO's. I'm not a big pocket diaper fancier (though I have used them on and off) and the diapers that fit him best and he was most willing to wear were Bum-ware AIO's. But he has always been very small for his age, so Lg's were more than big enough through potty learned for him. I actually had a hard time finding trainers small enough for him even though he was 5yrs old.

I think it really depends on your DD's needs, especially if she needs a higher absorbancy.

If your looking for AIO's, Sposoeasy's are great for no stink, they are 100% cotton inside and an awesome dipe!

My older kids still used Toddler PF's trifolded in XL BSWW until just this winter. They were about 50lbs each. I bet you have a longer life in them than you think. And if not ATD

Does the waterproof outer layer get worn out with all the washing?
