Tried & True Sleep Help books!

I don't want to do CIO....well, let me rephrase...I WON'T do CIO. Not bashing anyone who uses CIO, but it's not right for our family. I did CIO with ds1 and although it technically worked...he's 3yo and still difficult. And I don't think ds2 would respond to it AT ALL. Anyway...I know the one book..healthy sleep habits, happy child or whatever it is....are there anymore? Like I said, no CIO - but something has got to give!!

Re: Tried & True Sleep Help books!

I really liked "the no cry sleep solution". As it happened, I was doing a lot of the things that it suggested by sheer accident, ( I was so tired that I'd put DD down in the bassinet next to the bed even if she hadn't gone back to sleep yet, just because I was afraid I'd fall sleep with her in bed). I read it before we had any problems, just so I'd have an idea how to cope if problems cropped up.

Try the NoCry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley and Sleepless in America by the same author of the Spirited Child (obviously I don't know her name) both books had great ideas but I must confess that our child is still not a great sleeper though he is much improved.

I totally agree. FYI the author is Mary Sheedy Kurcinka.
