Diaper Swappers

I bought some prefolds, and can love them! But... I'm wondering about the size? My 3 month old is like 15-16 lbs now, and so the rise is super long, (I fold it down almost in half in the front) but, when I fold the diaper, the wings are barely over the front of the diaper. His thighs are just huge, like 10 inches... so what am I supposed to do?

They're just not going to fit him right?? Or can I flip the pfs the other way? I don't want to not be able to use them!!

You can use them any way that works! If you lay the prefold down completely flat, wrap it around him and the sides don't meet, then it can't be snappi'd. You can always trifold it into a tight fitting cover.

I actually prefer the sides not meeting - less bulk in the cover. The diaper covers the area that needs the absorbancy and the cover keeps it in place.

For my DD I fold any excess to the back lined up with the back elastic of the cover. Then I fold the front in thirds and bring it up between her legs, secure the cover in place. Easy as pie.

what kind are you using? regulars or premiums? Premiums are bulkier.

For my chunky thighed DS I had to buy premium PF's as the infant size was too narrow to go around his legs.

Another option is to get some flannel recieving blankets and use them as flats - then you can fold them to whatever size you need and it should def fit! My little guy is 17 lbs at 3.5 months old and he is growing way out of the width before the rise too!

There are some AWESOME flat fold tutorials on this site! HTH
