2 Laundry Questions
Hi ladies,
I am using pockets and AIO's and here is my laundry routine: - Cold rinse with 2 drops of TTO - Hot wash with a couple of teaspoons Allen's Naturally detergent and baking soda and a cold rinse with vinegar - Extra cold rinse with plain water Here are my questions: 1) Do diapers have to washed in hot to be clean? 2) Is there anything I can add to my final rinse to make the diapers smell good? Thanks!

Re: 2 Laundry Questions
I personally think they need to be washed in hot water. Hot water kills any germs. It sounds like your doing as much as you can for smell. I don't really notice any smell to my cloth diapers. I only do a cold rinse, hot wash, then a cold rinse again. I use just about tablespoon of free and clear detergent. Either All or Arm and Hammer.

Re: 2 Laundry Questions
I recommend washing on hot, at least most of the time. I've been out of hot water a couple times, or it wasn't real hot, and I think that's ok once and a while. For normal everytime washing I think hot is best if you can. I know others, especially outside of the US, don't have hot water to wash everytime and they manage. I just think hot cleans better.
You don't want your diapers to smell like anything when they're clean. Scent mixed with pee equals STINK. Just enjoy that clean smell. After two years of CD our families laundry is 100% scent free. We enjoy all our clothes just smelling clean.

Re: 2 Laundry Questions
I think the HOT kills germies and cleans a little better. It helps rinse better also. I'd wonder if you've got some buildup, especially with that much stuff in your routine. I'd add a hot rinse to your routuine and if you don't have that option (like me), just run another short cycle with nothing but water.

Re: 2 Laundry Questions
Ooo I think I didn't make myself clear.
I have no stink issues at all. My diapers don't smell like anything when they are washed. And I was wondering if I could add something to the last rinse cycle to make them smell "good". But as the pp said, pee and good scent equal bad smell. So I'm all set. Thanks!
