Diaper Swappers

DD's first birthday is in a few weeks. We are having it outdoors, picnic-style (horse racetrack). I think that cupcakes would be the most portable, however, for my kids birthdays I am usually intent on making a Wilton character pan and decorating it myself, like my mom used to do when we were little (I made DS a blue teddy bear in December that was super cute!).

Any suggestions for decorating cupcakes that will still be cute and special for my DD's special day?

Would love any pics of things you've frosted yourself, or even links. Thanks!

Oh my gosh, those flower cupcakes are beautiful...I have never made frosting flowers before, do you think it would be difficult?

Around here, I think it is Target that makes cupcake "cakes", a bunch of cc stuck close together and frosted over the whole thing, like a cake.

NOPE thats easy stuff. If you have Tips I use the "Throw away bags" and Buttercream frosting
For the Flowers I use Tip # 104 Now its Farberware Not wiltons so I don't know what number that is BUT mine is pretty self explained.
Long flat tip squeeze slowly and make short Upward motions spinning the cupcake and putting a new "Petal" each turn OR you could cheat and use the Star tip and just do Spiral flowers they are Just as pretty. I can do one that looks Identical to the above ones in less than 3 minutes Each

well YUP that works too But I don't use the nail and paper I just do it right on the cupcake However I have been doing it Long enough to know how. Good Tute thanks Im gonna book mark it for my Daughter
