Confused about ISO forum

I have a few items to sell. Before posting them, I thought I'd look through the ISO listings to see if my item matches anyones ISO. So I first looked at the rules to see if any applied to this. I found the following :

"Can I search for people to buy my FSOT items in my ISO thread?
No, the ISO forum is for items you're looking for, not an advertisement for items you're selling."

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the answer. So I can't advertise in the ISO forum, but can I reply to some one's specifc ISO thread telling them about what I have available???
