Non-meat recipes?
I am Catholic and it is Lent... just incase you are wondering.
So, there is no meat for me today and I don't know what to make. I am not a big fish eater ever and don't like tofu. Kinda picky, huh?Any ideas on things I could make? I am sick sick sick of pasta!

Re: Non-meat recipes?
I love making minestrone soup..I ususally do add meatballs but you absilutely dont ned them and then the whole thing is meat less!!
SO lets see first get one of those big pots and add: 1. 2 large jars/cans of Spegetti sauce (like those 99 cents HUnts are perfect) 2. 3 average cans of veggie broth 3. two reg cans of kidney beans 4. a package of frozen veggies (mix pack with carrots, peas, green beans and corn) 5. 1 table spoon of italian seasonig stirred in Get all those ingrediaents going to a boil while stirring and then reduce heat While doing that in a seperate pot boil 1 large package of tortellini cheese pasts noodles filled and then add to big pot mixture and then boil a handful of egg noodles until ready and add to big pot mixture I ususally do add meatballs to this but I have made it without meatballas and everyone loves this soup but be prepared it does feed a small army!! LOL

vegweb.com is a great veggie site and you can usually find recipes for things you have on hand.

Re: Non-meat recipes?
I've been running into this issue every Friday too. lately we've been having eggs and pancakes for dinner. Or bean and cheese burritos. You can also do soups using bullion.. You are allowed to use chicken or beef broth, just not the meat itself. So french onion soup would work. Or how about baked potatoes topped with broccoli and cheese?

Re: Non-meat recipes?
How about a dairy night..You make tuna salad, egg salad, rolls, green salad, some cheeses and fruits and have a nice easy dinner..
