Re: My 13 month old-I am concerned

She's fine. No worries. Babies all do things in their own time. And it's not weird to use a word and then stop. She'll pick them up again. Most of the time, it's exciting for the first couple days and then she moves on to something else.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Re: My 13 month old-I am concerned

I am sure she's fine. I remember my MIL who was a principle, giving me a list of things that a 3 yr old should say and it was only 24 things. They need 24 things b4 the age of 3. My nephew is 3 and he says "ow" "mom" "tyler" "no" "dad" "milk" "Tim" "ashden" and thats about it. He doesnt speak in sentences either.

Re: My 13 month old-I am concerned

DS isn't yet 13 mos - but he does the same thing with physical develpmental milestones. For example, when he learned to roll over he practiced it over and over and over (100x?) the day he learned it, then I wouldn't see him roll for a couple of weeks and I'd wonder what happened. Rest assured when he wanted something bad enough he'd roll for it!

Re: My 13 month old-I am concerned

My 20 month old STILL likes to babble "mommy" and "daddy", along with a few others - every morning, she kindof inventories her fave 8 or so words, then talks about them the entire ride into the city. She also went through learning a bunch of words and kind of retiring them for awhile, but now she's whipping them all back out and starting to piece together sentences. So, I think you're fine.
