Body Temp too low for registering on the Ear Thermometer

DS2 woke up this morning at 5am with vomit in his crib, massive explosive diaper up his back...Stunk to High Heavens...I got him/crib all changed and brought him back to his crib...10 min later woke up again and he was making weird noises and he puked again...I took his temp with the ear one and it said LO....so i took it in the other ear and it was 93. something...I was ok This cannot be right...so i lay him down on the couch with a towel under him. He falls asleep and i am sitting right next to him...another 20 min past and he starts making gasping noises and throws up again...I take his temp again and its saying LO in both ears....I called the PED and told them...They ask me if i can be there at 10:15 i said Yes...So we are headed out...I have no clue what is going on. He's never had a LOW temp and vomit before...Something is going on...

How old is your LO? I remember reading that ear thermometers are not recommended for children under 2 years old as they don't register properly? I remember being mad about it after i bought it for my baby as it had a baby on the box and then not being able to use it. Things might have changed though as this was 6 years ago.
I would calm your fears and take your LO to the ped. It doesn't hurt to be on the safe side.

Ear thermometers are notorious for inaccuracy -- there is no way his temp is that low. Take a rectal temp.

I agree with the others that ear thermometers are pretty touch and go when they're little. If you can't get a good read with the ET, definitely try a rectal.
