Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

I use the Born Free glass bottles and love them. Thick glass so they won't break easily (but I think BF now makes a silicone sleeve for them) and easy to clean.

Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

We used the Evenflo glass ones until DS was about 10 months b/c he started throwing them when he was done at daycare, none ever broke though. The plastic ones we used were the Medela ones which are BPA-free plastic.
We breastfed at home.

Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

I hate to be the dissenter here, but I will NEVER use glass bottles again. Especially not Born Free. I spent a ton of money on them for DS2 (I have IGT and cannot breastfeed). They worked great at first but then they started shattering. Nobody did anything, we didn't use bottle warmers, nothing and they'd just shatter. One was sitting on the counter and shattered and another was sitting in DS's cosleeper (he wasn't in it). I was unable to get the shards out and had to throw them away.

We never refrigerated formula either. There was no reason for this to happen.

I use playtex drop ins now.

When I pumped I used the Evenflo glass bottles and loved them. They were the only ones I ever used. I found them super easy to clean and were a great price.

Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

I still have 6 NUK glass bottles on hand. We used them when I was able to pump and had to rest in the early part of transition from formula to 100% breastmilk... haven't used them since we hit 3 months.

No issues.

Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

DD only gets one bottle in the evening, but I love the Evenflo glass bottles. I have the rubber covers for them. They are easy to clean IMO. I was using the Playtex drop ins, but got tired of dealing with the bags so i just use the glass ones now and throw them in the dishwasher or hand wash if I need one right then. We only have 3 because she rarely gets a bottle, and they always look so clean.

Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

I am going to be the oddball here and say that DH and I did not care for glass bottles at all. We used BPA free bottles when we needed a bottle.....

Re: Does anyone use glass bottles?

We used glass for awhile and then switched. But not because they were glass. We switched from Dr Brown's tall skinny bottles to the wide-neck b/c my DS was having such gas problems. I still have the glass ones in the cabinet... maybe I'll break them out again some day.
