When do you start to worry?

Baby #1 was conceive the first week off the pill, used condoms rest of the month.
Baby #2 conceive first cycle after iud removal..

When would you start getting concerned about not getting pregnant for #3? Only condoms used since baby#2 was born so no hormones from that...

Im not charting, we never get up the same time everyday and I always get up somewhere between 4 and 6 to go to the bathroom anyways so it would screw that up. But we DTD every 2-2.5 days through the entire cycle...

Re: When do you start to worry?

it all depends . . . are we actively trying or not actively trying? statistically speaking the average cycle is 28 days from first to first, so if actively trying ovulation usually happens by about day 17. best times to try would be in the five days up and including that day. average ovulation tends to happen between 10 and 14 days before the start of the next cycle, for most women. not saying you follow the average, but there it is. I personally don't follow average with a 30 day cycle ovulating on day 18/19, we got pregnant after two days of trying and months of conciously trying not to! It all depends on how many months you want between kids, ask yourself are you physically ready right now? if you don't get the result you want now, how patient are you likely to be/how will you deal with it if you are before you wanted to be, etc. if you're ready, it'll happen when it is supposed to (whether your plan meshes with what will happen is beside the point, not that that's much comfort, my only sister is 19 years younger than myself, no fault of my parents b/c of not trying though).

Re: When do you start to worry?

My cycles are all over the place, used to be 30-32 but my last couple have been 25, 27 and 28 days, we pretty much dtd every 2 to 2.5 days the entire cycle, sometimes everyday so yeah I would say were actively trying and have been for 4 months. I was ready when YDS was 6 months but we didn’t start trying till this Summer I would have loved to have them closer to 2 years apart (my first spacing), at this point were at 2.5 years apart and I really don't want to make it closer to 3... I kind of figured it would happen within the first 2-3 months since the first 2 kids were so easy.

Re: When do you start to worry?

it sounds like you were super lucky the first two times! we concieved ds on the first cycle trying too, and this is #5 this time around. i'm now seeing a specialist due to luteal phase problems, but he told me a 'normally fertile' couple has a 10-15% chance to concieve in the first cycle, stats go up to 50% by 6 months. so if you are 'normally' fertile, stats are on the side of 'it's coming" for ya i know that doesn't help the waiting and the saddness when AF comes, but i'm guessing everything is normal! do you use OPKs? if you don't temp, that at least can give you an idea of luteal phase legnth and when to expect AF to come. if AF doesn't follow 14-16 after a postive OPK, you might look into ovulatory issues.

Re: When do you start to worry?

I havent looked in OPK yet, if AF shows on Monday as I suspect she will I have to order more HPTs anyways so Ill order OPKs as well!

I was thinking about maybe making an apt with our family doctor since it takes 4-6 weeks before I can get in but was wondering if that was jumping the gun...

I would probably make an appointment to put your mind at ease...you can always cancel. While your waiting to see the doc I would start using some more advanced methods to up your chances...opks, temping, watching cm etc. and start recording it all. Fertility friend is a great site and free for the basic membership.
