Rinse vs Soak

I've heard different wash routines now, some people rinse the diapers fist, some people soak the diapers first. I have both a rinse and a soak cycle on my washer

What is the reasons behind the different methods? Ugh, I can't get a hot rinse or soak either, only warm or cold.

Re: Rinse vs Soak

I do a cold rinse first. Hot will set in stains.

I did soak but the more I thought about it the dipes were just soaking in icky water so I went to rinse.

Cold rinse, hot wash, extra cold rinse.

Re: Rinse vs Soak

We run a pre wash cycle on cold to spin out any poop, then a wash cycle on hot to clean. Every other wash or so an extra cold waster rince to prevent build up.

I rinse by hand, then put them in the washer to soak. I rinse so there aren't any chunks or smells going into my washer and I soak to loosen up anything that may be thinking of lurking in the fabric.

Re: Rinse vs Soak

I don't have extra cold either. I had been doing cold rinse, hot wash/cold rinse, extra rinse cycle (cold). I have a front loader, should I put Borax in the drum or in the little drawer where you put the detergent?

You know, I tried to do this to my washer and it would not work with the cold shut off. I didn't have it on Autotemp, either. Then once I turned the cold back on, the handle for the cold water for my utility sink was dripping. Glad it worked for you though.
