Re: for one-nap-a-day LOs

Dd goes down for her nap around 11 if we are home, and she will sleep for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If we are out then I put her down when we get home if it is before 1:30, otherwise she stays up and goes to bed really early (think 5:30 or 6). We have an early bedtime for our kids here. They go down between 7 and 7:30 and usually get up between 7 and 8.

Re: for one-nap-a-day LOs

My 13 month old is at the transition phase of going from 2 to 1 naps. Some days she still takes 2 but when it's 1 nap, she'll usually go down from 1 to 3:30/4pm. On 1 nap days she also tends to go to bed earlier --- at around 6pm vs. 7pm on 2 nap days. My 2 year old naps from 1 to 3:30/4pm. When he transitioned to 1 nap at 14 1/2 months, he usually went down from 11 to 1:30. We slowly pushed his nap back over the course of a few months to get it to 1pm.

He gets up at 7 and goes to bed at 7 and this works for us. He naps 930-1130 and if he naps in the afternoon it is 230-430 or 3-5.

He is shortening his naps from 2 hours to 1.5 hours lately.

My DD is a great napper. She wakes up about 7am, plays and goes strong all morning. Naptime is from 1pm to 4:30 or 5pm and she goes to sleep around 8:30 and sleeps all night. She is 22 months.

Re: for one-nap-a-day LOs

i have a hard time scheduling his naps around activities too. he is starting to go for only one nap around noonish, but from 10 till noon or later whenever he naps (sometimes not til 2) he's just miserable. and if he does make it through an activity, he falls asleep in the car and wakes up when we get home and won't nap. so instead of a 2 to 4 hour nap, he sleeps 30 minutes and is miserable the whole day.
