Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
How long did you wait before you got pregnant with another one? I have a 2 year old, and 2 month old, and I want another one. My 2 month old is a really good baby, she is so calm and good.
Re: Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
For us, instead of trying to plan the perfect timing we just let it happen and it is so much more freeing. most of ours our 16 months to 18 months apart. the farest we have is 22.5 months - the closest is 13.5 months. I love the closer spacing. And many of our little ones were not super calm babies. So I say if you find you are ready and hubby is happy to just let it be and see what happens.

We also just let it happen and I loved that. For us apparently nursing worked because I would breastfeed for around a year and then immediately get pregnant. Our 4 ended up 20-21 months apart.

This.
DS1 and DS2 are 15 months apart. DS1 was a calm and happy baby, DS2 was a happy but higher needs baby. DS2 and DS3 are 3years 4 months apart, but not for trying to make it happen that way. I believe God just knew I needed the extra time between those two!
DH and I get a general idea of when we'd 'like' to start thinking about having another kid, but we really don't do anything to prevent something from happening.

I have had most w/ 20-23 month spacing, but one was 3 years and one month and one was 12 months and three days. I loved each spacing, it was God's planning and perfect.

Re: Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
All the children are between 21-23 mos. apart except for the last two, who are over 3 yrs. apart. This is partly b/c I had a m/c between #5 and #6 and partly b/c our 5th child, Sophie, was born with Down Syndrome and her health concerns and development delayed us from deciding to TTC for quite a while. Actually, although she and Duncan are spaced pretty far apart, it still feels like we had them about 2 yrs. apart, b/c of her developmental delay and the fact that she's a peanut and is the size of a 2 yo. So it's all worked out the way it was supposed to!

Re: Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
My first two are 20 mos. Two & 3 are 21 mod. My longest spread is 2 yr 4 mos between 3 & 4. There are almost 2 years btwn 4 & 5. There is a 22 spread btwn 5 & 6. There will be almost 18 mod btwn my youngest and my next baby due in May. Personally, the shorter spreads have been easier for us. Regardless, I am with everyone else that God's timing has been better. We just have kind of accepted what He brought our way and they've all turned out to be a joy.

Re: Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
When we felt ready we tried for another. That was about 10-12 months with the first few, but then became a little longer with some of the others. And now with my youngest being 18 months, I'm not really feeling the baby bug yet, but I think my dh is. He says little things about impregnating me in a joking way, but that tells me he's thinking about it. I'm not totally opposed to the idea, but my family sure is and I'm just not looking forward to the morning sickness and last month or two of being preggo!!

Re: Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
We are only on #3 but ours are all close.. my first 2 are 13 months apart and my next 2 will be 17 months apart. I love having them close, which is funny b/c growing up my sisters and I were all 3.5 years apart so I originally thought I'd want a larger space between them. I wanted to wait until DS was a year before we started TTC, buuut I got the baby bug when he was around 6 months and we "tried" at 8 months we use NFP so we can kind of just decide whenever. I'm not sure how far apart the next ones will be, it of course depends on God's timing and we may wait until these 3 are a little older... then again, we may not!

Re: Moms of Many: How did you wait before you had another one?
My first was 26 months when my first set of twins were born. My twins will be 27 months when this set of twins is born. We planned it that way, since we do have to plan it (won't happen on it's own). I like the timing. We will probably wait a little longer the next time though. We would like to keep them close together, but we could have twins again. We feel like if it is, we need a little more time between them next time. Plus, as it stands now, we will have 5 kids college age at the same time. If we have another set of twins in the same time frame, we would have 6 college age all at the same time. We are going to encourage our children to go to college. So, for practical reasons, we are going to spread them out a little more the next time, probably closer to 3 years but trying not to go over 3 years. Good luck!
