a november craft-along thread!

Okay I really did try to read all of this thread before I posted and I got to page 28 before my crappy laptop mysteriously restarted on me. Anyways can I join even without reading the whole thread?

I'm on #3 of 73 crochet afghans
I have 8/10 yds of flannel/knit prints left to sew diapers
I'm on my first of 7 skeins for a cabled cardigan for me

In my scrap pile,
fleece catnip mice to make
doublers and liners
nursing pads

Spin up ugly starter kit merino to which I'm crochet a rug with
Finished dying merino/bamboo roving but is next on my list to spin.

Patterns... retrace doubler pattern, add 1" to my XL katrina's pattern

Finish legs and tail on lion.
Start the next 10 animals I need to do.

Oh yes and ignore my messy house so I can accomplish all this.

welcome!!! i don't think i've made it all the way through this thread either. Sounds like you have a lot of fun projects coming up.

I just bought the Stitch 'N B***h book on Wednesday, learned how to cast on that night and completed the "Go Go Garter Stitch Scarf" today. It's not beautiful, but I'm proud of it anyhow! I think that it would have looked better using the actual yarn that the book suggested and darker colors, but I give myself an "A" for effort!




And here's some yarn that I dyed up last week. I haven't dyed yarn in about a year, so I'm stoked that it came out so well, imo. I took the pic with my camera phone so the colors are off (the green is not as bright and the brown is not so dark in real life). Space-dyed with professional acid dyes.

Way to go on the scarf, it looks MUCH better than my first scarf! I love the yarn you dyed, I wish I could do that.

i love the checker board! It reminded me of when I was in elementary school, the library had a big cloth one that we used to play with on the floor. it was the coolest thing. what are you going to use for the checkers?

Yet another project not on my original list completed. A dress for my neice using the Heidi and Finn Perfect party dress pattern, the sleeves sucked, that's my only complaint with the pattern/tutorial, it didn't really explain the sleeves very well. The dress should really be lined but I didn't think about that until after the fact.

Wow, everyone has been so busy! I was so busy this weekend and haven't been able to get anything done between the family visits, dinners and shopping. But I will have to brag and say that I saved over $500 on shopping at Joann's this weekend. And I got a few more things I needed to make x-mas presents.

The only thing I did work on was my DDs hat and just about when I was finished with it I realized that it was way too big and had to start all over, I'm now about 1/3 of the way through.

My house is a wreck so I have to do damage control before I can even start on my craft list but here's the list so far:

For x-mas:
* 4 mini cd key chains as stocking stuffers for mom, sis, dd and ds
* finish mom's cabled scarf
* purple hat for sister
* pink hat for DD
* camo hat for DS
* kitty hat for niece M
* camo hat for nephew E
* white CD set for LO
* rag/tag blanket for LO
* matching green and red striped longies and hat for LO
* matching CD for longies and hat
* embelished shirt to match for LO
* soft shoes for LO

Other stuff:
* drawstring bag to carry niece S's birthday present
* matching inserts for all the diapers I've made
* embelish prefolds
* family cloth and bag for me

And I haven't figured out if I want to make little aprons or little cases/wallets for my nieces to hold their DSIs for their x-mas present. I haven't made either and I don't even know if I'll have the time. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

I don't know how in the world I'm going to finish all of this. I know I've gotten a lot done in the past couple of weeks but there's still so much to do. And now I'm wondering how I got by all the other holidays in the past before I started crafting.
