Re: I want to build this sooo bad,

I'm glad I could inspire some of you mamas on here to have your hubby's (or yourselves) go and build this. I'm not so much inlove with bed. I just LOVE the lazy suzan for toys. Nicely hidden and easy to organize!!

I think this is too tough for me to try for now. I am planning on building a mission tree bench for my mudroom out of an old chest I already own. However, DH doesn't think I can do it. Well, I'll show him. Huff Never underestimate my determination, especially when you say I can't do something.....(that's how I got preggo at 17. )

Re: I want to build this sooo bad,

I love it!! I wonder if it could be scaled down to a toddler bed size My DS is almost ready for one and I bet I could easily make that look boyish. I think I'll send my dad the link to see if he can do it.

My youngest is almost ready for a big boy bed too but I think we will skip the toddler bed and just jump straight into this one. My hubby can make just about anything out of wood and he likes this bed too He is going to make matching beds for our youngest two boys. I think I'll just have him make them out of different colors. Eeeep!!! I'm so excited!!! That lazy susan drawer is awesome!!

Re: I want to build this sooo bad,

personally i find plywood a bit more challenging to cut straight
but it looks like with a chalk line, tape, and a skill saw combined with whatyou have you could probably get through it - i would practice cutting first to cut straight lines on the final project

an easy way to avoid this is get a 2x4 at least as long as what you are wanting to cut and use clamps and clamp it to your plywood and run your circular or jig saw up against the edge of that 2x4 and you have a nice straight line (as long as your 2x4 isn't warped )
