Can you dye a pul cover?
I know it sounds dumb but dd has been sick for the last few weeks and keeps messing her diapers pretty bad. No matter how quickly I got the covers in the wash, our beloved econobum cover is stained Is it possible for me to dye it?

Re: Can you dye a pul cover?
maybe VERY VERY lightly. PUL probably wont take dye..it may tint the PUL if you let it sit in the dye long enough but you will never get a vibrant color.

Re: Can you dye a pul cover?
I have dyed PUL when making diapers and unfortunately the side you see doesn't take the color, it might be very faint at fist but after a couple washes it comes out. Sorry

Re: Can you dye a pul cover?
Dying does not work! I've tried and failed. I even boiled the diaper and it looked awesome, and when it came time to rinse, it all came out (except for the thread)
You can paint your PUL, which is what I did with all of my BSS. ![]() ![]() I use tulip fabric paint mixed with a little water. Sponge it on and let dry for a day. Then wash and dry. Nothing bleeds, the snaps stay white, but the tags all got painted.

Re: Can you dye a pul cover?
How hard is it to make it even? Is it easy? Do you roll it on with like a foam little paint roller or a paint brush??

They are very even, because I add some water and then dunk them in the bowl of paint/water. The first two I did with a sponge brush and it took a long time. The paint will get on the snaps, but when it dries it wipes right off, so don't worry about it. The small bottle of tulip fabric paint is maybe about 2 oz, I add about 1 oz and then mix in a bowl and go from there. I did all of this because I loathe velcro, and don't like white. I bought all these bummis super snap (which only come in white) and painted. The funny thing is, I now have a snap press and could have just gotten BSWW and converted ![]() HTH : )
