Re: If your child was sick would you take them out to playdate??

I don't even go to family functions if my kid is sick... but if I know for sure, if the inlaws kids are sick I try to stay away also. I just think thats rude to expose others. we got 5th disease and chicken pox from the in laws before. they seem to be unfazed by it.

Absolutely not.

A cold is not "just a cold" to a lot of people. Many children are more prone to ear infections, sinus infections, pneumonia, etc that sometimes originate from a cold. A cold is also contagious as long as there are symptoms. If you still have a runny nose, you are probably still contagious.

I have three young kiddos, when one gets sick, they all get sick. It's a BIG deal to us when people knowingly take sick kiddos out to play.

oops. i voted before reading the post (voted depends). no, i wouldn't it if were that bad. but i have taken my kids to playdates with sniffles. but obviously coughing, yellow snot and the whole works, not a chance. that is rude. and not very nice to my kids either.

eta~ i always ask the parents of kids we are playing with if they want to reschedule when the boys are sick.

I know.

See I'm so fuming mad right now. These people didn't think about others AT ALL.

If DD gets even the slightest fever she has seizures then we are into a whole other realm of problems.

People these days seriously!

No i think it's incredibly rude to bring your sick kiddos in contact with others.

No way I wouldn't, I think people should think a little more about the other kids around them. My oldest has a very weak immune system and if someone has something, he will get it!

I am so sorry. I hope your babies recover quickly and I am really sorry about your dd and her seizures. That has got to be a hard road to travel.

Thanks I can deal with her seizures they are scary but we have/had them under control.

This was just super annoying KWIM. I was shocked that people would do that.

Re: If your child was sick would you take them out to playdate??

Nope, nothing like a sick child who wants to play but feels miserable. Plus she spreads it and then it will end up right back at our doorsteps. DD gets croup the moment she gets sick, so i tend to be pretty careful about keeping her home when sick.

I whole heartedly agree with you. Other people should be considerate of what can happen with your dc's seizures. So irratating. Nobody seems to care these days.
