Re: 18 months- toddler bed or twin size?

We went to a toddler bed because that's what we had/have available. I guess when we get some extra money we'll upgrade DD (almost 2) into a twin!

BTW, she went from co-sleeping and sleeping on blankets/pillows on the floor (about 50/50 of the time with each) to completely sleeping on her own in the toddler bed at 15 months.

Re: 18 months- toddler bed or twin size?

I would recommend a twin for a few reasons.

With the new baby, your dc may want some extra attention and a twin bed is much easier to co-sleep or cuddle with your dc then a toddler bed is. Also its one less purchase. If your child falls out, you can take the mattress off the frame and just put it on the floor. It is much more cost efficient in my opinion. We had the crib that went to a toddler bed, but dd hated it. Much preferred us snuggling with her in the twin bed. She was 2 when dd#2 was born and is now 3.5 and just started sleeping alone in the twin bed about 6 months ago.
