Re: Folding a prefold for a toddler??

I do the angel wing and snappi closed. I find that nothing keeps the legs snug now that he's so active though. We never had blow outs when he was little, and now we have them regularly.

Mine is similar to this, but I pin the prefold shut as I use other type of covers now since velcro/aplix type closures don't work for us anymore.

Sometimes I play around with folding the excess in the back instead of the front too.
I don't have any problems with poop getting in the twist, but I do pull up on the twist and sorta fan it out when I bring it between the legs. Someone gave me this tip and I didn't have anymore problems with his testicles coming out either.

On my 18 month old I tri fold an infant prefold with a newborn prefold inside it. At night or other times I know it will be on a long time, I add an additional soaker in side too. I have some narrow, hand sewn hemp soakers that I looooove for night time absorbtion.

Re: Folding a prefold for a toddler??

I do the same thing with the bikini twist....fanning it out alittle. Today we had a "leakage" problem but that was because she was sitting in it all through dinner and we didn't know. I think if I had changed her sooner none would have gotten out. Although, the jelly roll fold would solve that problem and then just add a doubler.

Re: Folding a prefold for a toddler??

I do the angel wing fold on my toddler as well. I also Pin, no snappi's here!

I am glad to see you are getting the hang of it now! Keep up the persistance as I know in the beginning I got super frustrated but now I am sure I know what I am doing, at least with my toddler. LOL
