thrifty and green project

My 8 year old son had a pair of footed fleece pajamas with a broken zipper. I could not get the zipper fixed despite all my attempts. I loved the print (space) and didn't want to chuck the pjs, so I made 3 items out of the usable fabric. I made mittens for my 6yo ds (using the sleeves, the cuff of the mittens was the sleeve cuff), a hat out of the biggest piece (the back), and a pair of socks/boot liners for the original owner of the pjs (just cut off the footed legs and resized the calf pieces.

I'll try to post pics later of the "after" (no before pics, but you can imagine what a one-piece footed pj looks like)

We need pics!!! If they were microfleece PJs, you can cut small squares out of what's left and use as super-soft reusable boogie wipes, too! My kids don't mind having their nose wiped ever since we switched from kleenex to microfleece.

I cut up a couple of ours with shot zippers for liners for our dipes. I love that fleece, it's micro, so thin and nice!
