What's the crab & mayo-ish stuff at the chinese places?
It seems like it's mostly crab and a mayo kind of sauce baked or broiled (I don't know the difference). Anywho, I have some crab in the freezer, and I know I majorly love the stuff at the restaurants....any ideas on recipes?

Re: What's the crab & mayo-ish stuff at the chinese places?
Are you talking about the fried crab rangoons? It's basically cream cheese and crab then fried or baked in a wonton wrapper. I've done some at home with soy sauce, a little garlic and red onion. Very little seasoning. Cream cheese and crab are about equal parts.
Sorry, I've never used a recipe. But I'm sure there are some online.

Re: What's the crab & mayo-ish stuff at the chinese places?
Is it like this? This is from a restaurant where I used to work:
LOBSTER AND CRAB DIP . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $8.49 A mixture of cream cheese, lobster, crabmeat, mushrooms, peppers and onions it was served bubbling hot from under the broiler--chips and pita triangles came alongside. At first I thought you meant crab salad Last edited by themummafamily; 01-03-2010 at 09:14 AM. |

There is a cold one that I make that has imitation crab meat, spicy ranch, lemon juice, and lemon zest in it. LMK if that is what you were looking for and I can look up the measurements

Here's a basic one: http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1845...240193,00.html
Type in "crab puffs" at the cooks.com site and you can get quite a few recipes.
