Snuggly on face?

My DS is 6 months old and has recently started pulling his snuggly up over his face at nap times and night. If I try and move it before he's in a deep sleep, he'll startle himself awake. Is anyone else's LO's doing this?

Re: Snuggly on face?

Both my boys did/do that. My oldest son would do that at a super young age(like 3 months) and he would instantly wake up upon my removing it. I think I stopped removing it when he was old enough to intentionally get out of it. I figured if he could roll over completely or pull it off his head unassisted, then he's be okay.
It freaked out sitters or relatives though! My cousin once told his mom "Don't worry mom, he won't die!" or at least we hoped!
It is freaky and you just gotta decide when it's okay with you or not.

My best friend's DD would always cover her face up when she was asleep. She just turned 1 so she was doing it when she was about 6 or 7 months too.

My son did this too. He used to sleep on his side w/ his blanket pulled all the way up in his face. It did make me nervous, but we got used to it. Keep a fan on his room to help keep air moving around.

Jorja does that all the time. If she's not swaddled, she's got her face covered by her lovey. Her hands are always up under her chin too even if they're empty. I always swaddle her at night, so I'm not to concerned overnight. But sometimes she falls asleep in the bouncer or just laying on the floor/bed with her lovey all up on her face so I just make sure to check on her frequently.

Re: Snuggly on face?

My 8 month old DD pulls the blanket up over her face all the time. It is so new to me because neither of my DS's would even keep a blanket on them and she likes to stay all wrapped up in hers. It made me very nervous at first and I was always moving it and most of the time waking her up in the process. Now sommetimes I will leave it as long as it looks like it is only lightly over her face. She is still in our room though so I am constantly checking on her. I like to have the covers pulled up partly over my face too so I guess she gets it from me.

My 6 month old loves his blankie. Thankfully it's just gauze so it's nice and breathable.

Re: Snuggly on face?

So weird you asked because my 3 month old has started bringing his blanket up to his face when he's trying to fall asleep. It's cute, but it worries me so I move it as soon as I know he's sleeping good.
