Re: Kids digital cameras?

Instead of getting the kids a separate camera, we got an olympus for ourselves that is shockproof and waterproof. I take the pictures I want, and then hand it over to my DD and she goes nuts. I don't have to worry that she will break it, she could drop it in the toilet and it would be fine. I also don't have to cart around two cameras, and she loves that she can take pictures with the same camera that we use.

Re: Kids digital cameras?

Ivy received a Fisher Price camera for her birthday. It's not a bad camera by any means. If you put it on the high resolution setting, the pictures are decent. BUT...that thing goes through batteries like nobody's business. Even the rechargeables have to be recharged after several hours of use.

What I would/will do in the future is just get her an inexpensive, regular digital camera. The kiddie ones aren't worth it in the long run b/c of the picture quality (depending on the brand) and the incessent eating of batteries.

I agree! We got rid of ours and are much less frustrated now.

Re: Kids digital cameras?

We went through 2 "kiddie" cameras before I just bought DD a cheap "real" one. (like under $20) The kid ones were just junky...they were sturdy, sure, but she knows what a real camera should function like and there was no fooling her with those kid ones.
