Diaper Swappers

That's it! I wanna knit! My aunt tried to show me a couple of years ago, but she's a super-feminist and a shrink and not that great at teaching. I got a book, but that was no good. Do you knitting mamas know of any good DVD's that show close-up on how to do it. I thought that would be good, so I could pause, rewind, slow-mo, all that jazz.

I just wanna knit!!! Some soakers!!!! And socks!!! And maybe a cute hat or somethin, I don't know!!!!

I don't remember how I learned, but I do know that years later when I needed a "refresher" I used books...maybe the library would be a good resource?

I still rely on google heavily when I need to learn how (or remember how) to do something. I just google "how to __________". Many sites even have videos.

I know that my local yarn store has beginning knitting classes. I've also seen signs for them at Michaels (I think they're cheaper there). Also, my local yarn store, and a local bookstore have a knitting night. That's probably not a good way to learn the core basics, but a great place once you have the basics (casting on, knitting, purling) down.

Also, if you need IRL help, you can always find lots of knitters with lots of time and lots of need to spend time teaching someone the craft at nursing homes!!! You'd make someone's day there, believe me!

That's the problem. I'm stationed in Germany on a very small post and I'm not real social, as all my friends have moved away and they weren't very crafty to begin with. I don't know what my damage is with using books, I can draw like a madman, paint, whatever, but the the knitters dream aludes me. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
