my son jumps on me all the time. hes always getting me in the belly. how careful do we have to be??? i am 21 wks and i have plenty of padding...

My son is on me all the time too, I'm 26 weeks today. I asked the dr last pregnancy because I worked with preschoolers and they said it's fine, there is lots of protection for the baby. They were more concerned later in the pregnancy when the baby did was bigger (36 weeks plus)

I am probably over cautious about this. But I don't allow my 2.5 year old to jump on my belly AT ALL. It would probably be fine, but I don't want the risk. He's a rambunctious fellow, but he's been good about it since I've made it very clear that mommy's belly is off limits except for hugs, belly rubs, and talking to the baby, lol.

I agree, it's really better to be cautiously safe to prevent sudden risks that might happen. Anyway, I wish all the best for all of you mamas.

I don't let my 20 month old jump on my stomach. I don't want to take any chances and its not worth the risk. I always try to tell him "be nice with mommy's belly or be nice with the baby". Heck,the pressure from me sleeping on my stomach already dosen't feel so good, so I can't imagine how it would feel for a 30lb toddler to jump on me. Ouch

I would be cautious about this. I doubt he will do anything that will really hurt anything, but he's going to have to be more gentle around the new baby, and if you have a CS he won't be able to jump on you then. Why not work with him on being gentle, now?

For us, we try to stress the difference between JUMPING on the belly (like roughhousing I guess) and just climbing all over mom or sitting on the belly. DD loves to climb all over me and cuddle and sometimes gets a little carried away, but as long as I'm not in any discomfort or pain, I'm fine with her climbing on me.
