Making Sloppy Joes for a party - how much?

We'll have about 15 people, ranging from 3 - grandparents. Most of the guys eat a lot.
I don't know how much ground meat to buy to make up a big batch of sloppy joes. Help!

To be safe I'd use 1/2 lb per big eater, 1/4 lb per regular/light eater. Leftovers are better than running out. Filling sides like macaroni salad will stretch it and you could back a bit.

I made them with 1/2 lb ground beef recently and it was enough with smallish buns for me to have one, dh to have 2 and ds to have a small bit smeared on 1/2 bun that he did not eat.

Well I made 2 lbs of sloppy Joe just for us (4) for lunch. lol That said I have leftover.

I would go five pounds of meat for that many. I made 3 pounds of taco meat for our party last year and ran out. I think everyone had plenty to eat though.
