how did you tell your family you were pregnant?

With our first we mailed greeting cards to the grandparents that said something along the lines of "So you're going to be grandparents!" With my second pregnancy I sent out this picture in an email to our family and friends:



And with our current pregnancy I just blogged about 3's (three blind mice, three amigos, three wise men) and then had this picture at the end:



I don't know what we'll do if/when we have more kids, but it will probably involve a picture of some sort.

with DS we just told our parents in person. With this one, I waited and surprised DH with a cake on our anniversary that said we are due with #2 May 23, 2010. For my parents we dressed DS in a onesie I made that said this little monkey is going to be a big brother, and when they came over for thanks giving dinner I waited to see when they would notice, it was fun. I also took a picture of DS in his big brother shirt and told people to look at my new profile picture (since a lot of our family is on there and out of town). It was definately a fun way to make the announcement.

DD told daddy "Hey daddy guess what? Canon's going to be a big brother!" to which daddy responded "Oh really?" and then immediately shifted his glance to me and said "REALLY?!"

and later I called my mom and said "McCayla wants to talk to you and papa both. Can you put it on speaker?" and she did and confirmed they were both there.. M gets on and does the whole 'how was your day, I miss you, wanna come visit' thing and then says "OH guess what? Canon's going to be a big brother!" to which they both say "hmm? he's gonna wha? he's gonna.. SQUEEAAALLLL!!!!" and then it was mass chaos.

My parents have 3 grandkids already (my dd, my brother's dd, then my ds) so they are just thrilled for another..

With #1 I just told my mom.. with #2 I emailed her and it backfired (she read it on the phone with me :bnaghead: ). With #3 I told them in the juice aisle of walmart. With #4, mom found out accidently during an ER visit with DS2.. he needed a chest xray and mom came back and they asked the inevitable "could you be pregnant?" Oops. It didnt go very well! Dad still doesnt know.
