Re: Baby Leash?

I used one for DS1 at the Vancouver PNE. More than naything it was because he was soooo cute and I decided if someone was going to try to grab him they would be taking me with him too! In crowded areas I am all for them!

I don't think its a bad idea at all as long as you are using it for safety, which is what you will be doing. I have a monkey backpack for ds if we go somewhere crowded and I am by myself. The people staring at you are the ones who don't have kids and don't understand the fear of losing a child.

Re: Baby Leash?

I have never used one but I could see why someone would. Another alternative would be to take an umbrella stroller with you and check it when you board.

Re: Baby Leash?

I have one. For my two year old. We flew to FL in August when I was seven months preggo. The airport for the flight there, he loved it and wanted to walk, and was great. The return flight was a nightmare because he didn't sleep well while we were in FL and was super cranky. I guess I'm saying have a backup plan for if your lo doesn't want to walk. Other than that, I don't understand what anyone sees wrong with them. It's just another way to keep our kids safe in an otherwise sketchy situation.
FTR, I walked with him and held his hand the entire way, but the tail was wrapped around my wrist in case he ran off, which he did a couple of times. I've heard too many stories about kids getting snatched right out from under their parents' noses at places like airports to care if I get dirty looks.

We always use one in the airport. I still hold my his hand though... Oh and we turn it around so he can hug the monkey, he loves it that way.

Re: Baby Leash?

I'd much rather get nasty looks from random people at an airport than end up on TV crying because my kid got lost at an airport. Anything can happen in just a couple seconds where you think DH is watching him, but he thinks youa re and you both look for something in a bag and poof.....

Re: Baby Leash?

I have one and used it for the library when DD was younger and couldn't use the double stroller because it doesn't fit.

For the airport, I wouldn't personally probably use it just because it is crowded, but it couldn't hurt. I am more of a stroller/sling kinda girl. We don't usually let DD out of the stroller in the airport.
