Re: bunkbeds-at what age?
DH and I were looking at them a while back. There's a manufacturer called maxtrix that does some really really cool things with separable bunkbeds. My sister uses them for her 10 and 6 yo DSs and has for a few years with no problem.

Re: bunkbeds-at what age?
If you are going to do beds you can separate I hear ThisEndUp has great options for VERY solid beds. We had this stuff in our college dorm and it was built rock solid!

Re: bunkbeds-at what age?
We have beds that are separate right now but can be stacked. I bet we will stack them in the next year or so but I have been wondering this same thing. My son is 3.5 and he climbs on everything and jumps off it all also so I'm not so sure it is a good idea right now.

Re: bunkbeds-at what age?
My son was just past 3 when he started sleeping in a loft bed. It's not as high as a regular bunk bed. He has never fallen out. He loves his bed.

Re: bunkbeds-at what age?
My older two just got their bunk beds about two months ago.
7yo sleeps on top, 4yo on bottom we didn't think the 4yo would even venture to climb the ladder. we were wrong but he stil hasn't gotten all the way on the top bunk yet. my 2yo loves the bottom bunk, just have to watch like a hawk that he doesn't venture to the ladder. I'm sure HE would climb in a heartbeat.
